MedLanD in Turkey - March 2016

Bülent Arikan (Department of Ecology and Evolution, Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences, ITU) organized a conference at Istanbul Technical University on Modeling Socioecological Dynamics: Methods and Case Studies, March 14-15, 2016. Professor Arikan is using the MedLanD modeling laboratory software in a collaborative project to study anthropogenic impacts on landscapes of the upper Euphrates River drainage in southern Anatolia (Malatya Plain) in the vicinity of the large Bronze Age site of Arslantepe. Michael Barton and Isaac Ullah (ASU) gave presentations, along with participants from Istanbul Technical University, La Sapienza University, Yıldız Technical University, Boğaziçi University, Kadir Has University, and Istanbul Bilgi University.
