Fieldwork - Summer 2015

New fieldwork was done in the Canals de Navarrés valley, País Valenciano, Spain in May and June 2015. This work involved additional patch-based archaeological survey, geological mapping, and preliminary sediment sampling for charcoal, phytoliths, and isotopes. Work was co-directed by Joan Bernabeu (University of Valencia) and Michael Barton (Arizona State University). Participants included archaeologists Agustin Diez and Oreto Garcia (University of Valencia faculty); Sean Bergin, Wendy Cegielski, Grant Snitker, and Nari Miller (ASU graduate students); and Salvador Pardo and Irene Ésteban (UV and Autonomous University of Barcelona graduate student); and two volunteers.
